Liz and I dancing at St. Elmo's Clam

Two years. That’s how long I’ve been toying with the idea of making this TikTok.

Two years of mental drafts, potential captions, and imaginary scenarios. Every time I thought I was ready to hit record, something would always come up: a lack of inspiration, a busy schedule, or the daunting realization that I’d need to convince someone else to join me.

I’m the kind of person who prefers to wait for the perfect moment. You know, the kind where everything aligns perfectly and the stars seem to be in just the right position. Needless to say, this approach hasn’t always worked in my favor.

But then it happened. Out of the blue, the idea popped into my head, with the help of my saved TikTok ideas. No overthinking, no planning, just pure impulse. I grabbed my phone, hit record, and let loose.

It felt like a weight had been lifted, especially when my to-do videos are so piled up. I realized that the perfect moment I was waiting for might never come. Sometimes, the best opportunities arise unexpectedly. And while I still have a long way to go when it comes to being more outspoken (thanks, Liz, for the constant reminder), this small step has definitely boosted my confidence.

So, here’s to taking risks, embracing spontaneity, and not letting fear hold you back.
